The Cut Golf Course
Experience one of the Peel region’s premier golf courses at The Cut Golf Course. With its stunning links design, the course seamlessly blends natural dunes, contouring, and lush greens, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Indian Ocean.
Arriving in 2005, The Cut has made a simply sensational entry into the world of top golfing venues in Australia. Named after the nearby Dawesville Channel which was cut into the narrow strip of land separating the Harvey Estuary from the Indian Ocean, the course is routed over some serious dune land with a back nine, in particular, that is visually stunning.
The Cut has been designed by Sydney-based James Wilcher – a member of the Greg Norman design team for ten years – who also worked on the acclaimed new Pacific Dunes course in New South Wales. James has worked with the likes of Nick Faldo and Graham Marsh and on projects all over Australia and Asia. It is fair to say his architectural stature has grown considerably with this course.
The course features 18 holes set against the backdrop of the Indian Ocean, offering both beauty and challenge. It is a par-72 layout, stretching 6,448 meters from the championship tees, and has been crafted to blend seamlessly with the natural coastal terrain.
The course layout takes full advantage of the land’s natural topography, with many holes featuring undulating fairways and strategically placed bunkers. The front nine is particularly notable for its sweeping views of the ocean, while the back nine offers more inland elements, with water hazards and native vegetation creating an interesting contrast.
The fairways at The Cut are designed to be both challenging and rewarding, offering golfers of all skill levels the opportunity to test their precision and course management. The greens are known for being fast and true, with subtle undulations that make putting a real test. The bunkering is another standout feature, with deep, challenging sand traps placed in key positions to penalise errant shots.
A must-play destination for all golfers visiting Mandurah, just an hour’s drive from Perth.
